Perla Araujo
## Meet Perla Araujo My name is Perla, and I’m a sculptor and home-decor enthusiast with an Associate’s degree in Fine Art and a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art with a focus in Sculpture. I’ve always loved the thrill of finding decor that makes a space feel like “you,” but over time I discovered something even better—creating those pieces myself. When you make your own decor, it doesn’t just match your home; it carries your imagination, your effort, and your story. I specialize in turning simple materials—polystyrene, clays, plaster, fiberglass mesh, UV resin, paint, and more—into custom pieces that look like they belong in your favorite boutique. My goal is to demystify the process so that beautiful, personalized home decor feels approachable for everyone, not just for “artsy” people. ## What to Expect in Class Each project starts with a small mock-up, so you can experiment before committing to a final piece. Between live sessions, you’ll work on your project at your own pace, then bring it back the following week to share with the group. We’ll practice giving and receiving thoughtful, respectful critique: I’ll offer feedback on your work, you’ll be invited to share insights with your classmates, and at the end you’ll even get to critique my project too. This creates a collaborative studio atmosphere where everyone learns from everyone else. Students will also vote on which decor style we explore together first— Vintage, Victorian, Shabby Chic, Industrial, Modern, or Rococo. You’re always free to adapt a project into the style you personally love most; I provide the options, but the final aesthetic is yours. Above all, I want you to enjoy the process of designing, building, and seeing your ideas come to life. ## Growing a Creative Community My online presence is still growing, but my vision is clear: to build a warm, encouraging community of makers through platforms like Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and beyond. I’ll be sharing works-in-progress, behind-the-scenes tips, and finished projects to inspire both current and future students. Whether you’re decorating your first apartment or refreshing a longtime home, I’m here to help you create decor that feels uniquely, beautifully yours.
