In this program, I will be responsible for gradually easing newcomers interested in digital art into their desired program of use. Krita is a very well-known and respected FREE TO USE art program that has a lot of spectacular perks in its programming that is built by a community, unlike the two next premium options: Clip Studio Paint and Photoshop. Clip Studio Paint and Krita are our painting programs, with a splash of photo editing. Photoshop remains the industry standard of photo bashing, painting, and photo editing.
After picking our program, I will work with my students to establish an understanding of the tools and the road ahead, which will be our Art Fundamentals, both perspective and form. This road will be course of understanding shape manipulation and depth perception on a 2d surface to create convincing 3-dimensional shapes. This is the core of imaginative drawing and the building blocks for an artist's skill belt.
I love constructive drawing and painting with a focus on fantasy. Fantasy flows within my imagination everyday and imbues me with inspirations that tests my abilities and forces me to grow more in skill. I am very familiar with the basics of drawing, which are known as the fundamentals: Perspective, Form, Value, Color, Gesture and Composition. I have books and resources for these topics with personal curated examples, guidelines, and tips for success.
I want students that exit my class to be filled with assurance that each step is one of many. It takes time to build confidence, but with time comes routine, habit, and eventually mastery. (THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY ZERO GEN-AI USE)
Hello! My name is Alex Cea, I am a Digital Illustrator and Fantasy Artist graduate from Lesley University's Fine Art's program with a specialty in digital illustration and painting. My main focus is in developing narrative worlds driven by interesting visual designs. I hold great respect for artists in the industry and want make the medium more approachable for people that want to avoid the use of Gen-AI.
Teaching art is a fulfilling process that I want to explore more of. I learn equally from new experiences and from repeating old ideas in a new light. The Art Fundamentals are a pivotal pillar in an artist's path for success, especially for those that seek to draw worlds from their imagination.
