Montessori Unlocked: Learn how to truly follow your child, who they are, what they need, and how to nurture their development without trying to mold them into who we think they should be.
with Samah

Montessori Unlocked

Every child is different. They have their own personality, their own strengths, their own challenges, and their own timeline. I truly believe one of the greatest things we can do as parents is learn to see the child in front of us, not the child we expected them to be or the child we think they should become.

That is what following the child means to me. This class is about building a strong, loving, and trusting relationship with your child while giving them the tools to become independent, confident, and secure in who they are, without needing constant praise or validation from others.Through Montessori principles, you’ll learn how to guide without controlling, set clear and respectful limits, offer freedom within those limits, know when to step in and when to step back, and create an environment where your child feels trusted, respected, and capable. The goal isn’t a “perfect” child. It’s raising a child who knows they are loved, trusts themselves, feels capable, and has the confidence and independence to find their own place in the world. In this class, we’ll talk about how to truly understand your child and nurture their development while building a relationship rooted in love, trust, respect, and connection. You can have a beautiful, close relationship with your child while still having boundaries. You can say no. You can have expectations. And you can give your child freedom without giving up your role as the parent. I’ll show you how to create that balance through one of the most important Montessori principles: freedom within limits. When children understand their boundaries but are also trusted with appropriate freedom, choices, and responsibility, something beautiful begins to happen. They start discovering what they are capable of. We’ll also talk about independence in a very different way. Independence isn’t just your child learning to dress themselves, clean up, or complete a task without help. It’s also emotional. We want children who can think for themselves, trust their abilities, make choices, solve problems, and feel proud of themselves without constantly needing someone else to praise them or validate their worth. And we’ll look beyond behavior. Instead of immediately asking, “How do I make my child listen?” I want to help you learn to ask, “Why is my child doing this? What are they trying to tell me? What do they need from me? And what are they developmentally ready for?” After years of working closely with children and families as an AMI Montessori educator, I have learned that when we slow down, observe, and truly understand the child, the way we respond to them changes, and very often, their response to us changes too. I don’t believe in raising the “perfect” child. I believe in raising a child who knows without question that they are loved, while also knowing I am capable. I can try. I can make mistakes. I can figure things out. I can trust myself. My goal is to help you give your child roots strong enough to always know where home is, and the confidence and independence to eventually spread their wings.

About your instructor, Samah:

I’m an AMI-certified Montessori educator with more than 20 years of experience working with children, first as a first-grade teacher and later leading Montessori classrooms. I’m also a mother of four, and I truly believe being a mother has taught me just as much about children as being an educator has.Over the years, one thing has become very clear to me: children need to feel seen, understood, trusted, respected, and deeply loved.I don’t believe our job is to mold children into who we want them to be. Our job is to understand the child in front of us, guide them, set loving limits, and know when to step back and allow them to discover what they are capable of.My passion is helping parents build a strong, trusting relationship with their child while raising someone who is independent, confident, and secure in who they are, someone who trusts themselves, knows their worth, and doesn’t need constant validation from the world around them.
