I first discussed The Eight Steps of Self-Love in my first book, The Journey To Self-Love Part 1. I got the 8-Step model from the 12 Steps of Narcotics Anonymous as I was a behavioral health technician working in an inpatient facility for substance use at the time. I resigned from that position nine years ago. Since then, I created a manual workbook on what started out as eight simple steps to follow.
This class is about learning how to put yourself first, how to love yourself while also practicing boundary setting with others and how to prioritize. It teaches you how to love you without guilt or apologies.
Additionally, you will learn how to accept yourself flaws and all, learn to self-reflect and affirm your own worth as well as recognize your unhealthy patterns when it comes to loving you.
I first realized I lacked self-love twelve years ago as an adult and stated I would do the work on myself and also help others.
I made a vow to write The Journey To Self-Love Part 1 when I completed graduate school six years ago. I started drafting the book seven years ago which was the year before I graduated and published the book a year after I graduated in 2021. In 2025, I decided to expound on the steps as everything that I write in my books are lessons that I learned and can be used to help others.
In conclusion, I believe I am the best instructor to teach this class as I recognized I needed to change at age 33 and have been consistently putting in the work over the past twelve years on myself up until present day and beyond to be able to assist and teach others. Everything that I teach someone else how to do, I, myself, did it first.
Hi. My name name is Natisha Fauntleroy. I have an extension background in Behavioral and Mental Health Counseling as well as Social Work and Case Management. I decided to create a course on self-love because I discovered I lacked self-love at age 33, which was twelve years ago. Over the past twelve years, I've worked on loving myself using an eight step model that I created as well wrote a book, created a workbook manual and opened a life coaching company, to assist others with loving themselves. I am excited to teach this course because the thought of someone else learning to love themselves as I have, as well as gaining freedom from the burden of expectations of others is something beautiful to feel and see.
