The Ghobbuls are quiet reflections of ourselves — guardian-like figures that hold our emotions and guide our choices. In this 3-session course, you will learn to create your own Ghobbuls storyboard. Using a fixed set of 8 panels, you will explore how small changes — especially the direction of the Ghobbuls’ eyes — can transform meaning and open deeper stories. Through guided steps, discussion, and creative drawing, you will develop your own unique Ghobbuls story and share it with others in a final exhibition. This course combines structure and freedom, providing a safe space for you to explore your inner reflection.
Class Time:
6 hours of learning!
You’ll discover how story, image, and self-expression connect.
By transforming your chosen quote into visual form, you’ll learn how to express your inner world and open new ways to understand yourself.
As an artist and storyteller born in Japan and based in the United States, I’ve spent my life moving between languages, cultures, and creative forms.
My experience in art therapy and visual design allows me to guide students with both structure and sensitivity.
I believe art is not only for skill but for understanding — a way to reflect, communicate, and heal.
Through each class, I create a calm and supportive space where students can explore freely, discover their own rhythm, and connect creativity with emotion.
This class guides students in creating an 8-panel storyboard.
The order of the panels is free — there is no “correct” sequence.
You can also change the position or direction of the eyes to express each scene’s feeling.
Because 8-panel art is not easy, we work together to build a rough sketch, learn techniques, and develop your ideas step by step.
It’s a creative challenge, but students are encouraged not to rush or stress — the process of finishing each panel becomes a reflection of life itself.
