Code, Logic & Confidence: CS Made Fun

Have you ever wondered what's really happening behind your screen every time you open an app, search the web, or send a message? In this class, we pull back the curtain on computer science — not as an intimidating, code-heavy subject, but as a genuinely fun way of thinking and problem-solving.

This class is about building real understanding, not memorizing syntax. We'll start with the fundamentals — how computers process information, what programming actually is, and how to think like a programmer — before moving into hands-on coding exercises using beginner-friendly tools. You'll learn core concepts like variables, loops, conditionals, and functions, and see how these small building blocks combine to create the software you use every day. Beyond the technical skills, you'll walk away with something more valuable: confidence. Many people feel like computer science is "not for them," and I'm here to show you otherwise. Whether you're a student exploring a new interest, a career-changer testing the waters, or simply someone who's always been curious, this class meets you exactly where you are. As your instructor, I bring years of experience teaching computer science at the university level, where I've helped hundreds of students go from complete beginners to confident coders. I know the common sticking points, the "aha" moments, and — most importantly — how to make a technical subject feel approachable and even exciting. My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and rooted in real-world examples, because I believe anyone can learn to code with the right guidance. By the end of this course, you won't just understand computer science concepts — you'll have the tools and confidence to keep exploring on your own, whether that means building your first app, tackling a coding bootcamp, or simply satisfying your curiosity about how technology works.

About your instructor, Ayesha:

I'm a computer science lecturer with years of experience teaching programming at the university level, and I've spent my career helping people go from "I could never do that" to writing their own code with confidence. My path into tech wasn't always linear — like many of my students, I started out intimidated by the subject, unsure if I had the right kind of brain for it. That experience shapes how I teach today: with patience, real-world examples, and zero judgment for "silly" questions (there aren't any). What drew me to technology and programming is simple — it's one of the most powerful problem-solving toolkits we have. Whether you want to build an app, automate something tedious, understand the tech shaping our world, or just explore a new hobby, programming opens doors. I love that moment when a concept finally "clicks" for a student, and I've built my entire teaching style around creating more of those moments.
