In our classes, we will discuss genres of film. What kind of films do you like? What kind of films do you want to make? You will learn something of the essential elements in your chosen genre, even if you’d like to break the mold.
We’ll go over movie loglines and treatments, which are basically short descriptions of the movie you want to make. We will discuss storytelling, themes, characterization, and the basics of visual storytelling. You will write a short script of 3-5 pages, and find actors to play the parts, or even play them yourself. You will assemble your crew, and make a plan of how to shoot the film. You will shoot the film with your actors. Then, you will edit the film together, and add some sound design, and some titles. Finally, we will screen all the films at the end of the course, at your movie premiere!
