This class is about all the fundamentals of art, including how to draw, paint, and make all art things—from paintings and drawings to clay and crochet. You will be learning about the different elements of art (value, space, line, form, shape, and texture) and how to put those elements into a creative project. Lessons will be on such things as painting, color theory, drawing, clay (or the like such as model magic), crafts, pastels (chalk and oil), blending colors and mixed mediums, and more! I can teach anything that has to do with the visual arts, so if there is an art need, I can fill it.
Class Time:
6 hours of learning!
The class will be conducted as a step-by-step process, showing the supplies needed and how we will use them, while also providing suggestions on project ideas and/or by closely copying the techniques shown during the class time. Each session will be different, but if a "part 2" to a session is needed, then of course I will make that happen. Different ages and skill levels will be given some suggestions for their individual level, so it is very easy to be in a class with the very young and/or just learning to older and/or advanced skilled. There will be benefits for all, and you will also learn how to let your creativity flow and grow.
I have been an art teacher for all age levels (K-12) at a small private school for the last 14 years. I have also taught some adults in different classes as well at local craft stores and school events, so I'm the perfect person for whatever age and skill level you are at. I love art and want others to appreciate it as well; having taught K-12 art for the last 14 years, I have also done other types of classes and demonstrations to share the love of art. I strongly believe that anyone can be an artist—they just need to find their own style—and I love to help others find the artist within.
