Hi, my name is Katie! I have a bachelors degree in music education with an emphasis in string instruments, and I have been teaching general music and string orchestra classes for the last 7 years. I also enjoy playing in community orchestras and teaching private violin, viola, and piano lessons. I discovered in my own learning, as well as with my students, that creating original music through songwriting can be a fun way to learn musical concepts and build confidence, so I have been including music writing in my teaching and in my own music-making for several years.
Music production courses have recently become an exciting facet of my musical journey. Through experimenting with different software and techniques in songwriting and production, I've discovered new ways to bring creativity into my teaching and personal projects. Integrating music production into my classes not only enriches the learning experience but also serves as an inspiration for students to build confidence and better understand the intricacies of sound and composition.
