Looking for a relaxing space to share your writing? In Drinks & Drafts, bring a beverage and a piece to work on and share with the group. The first half of the class will be spent writing and the other half will be spent presenting your work and giving critiques to others' creations.
Here's the structure: The first couple of minutes are for greetings and good vibes. Then we'll do a warm-up writing exercise to loosen up. After that, it's time to hone in on your work. I'll set a timer, so you don't have to worry about keeping track of time. Once that timer goes off, it's time for sharing and critiques. We will take turns sharing our screens and reading aloud what we've worked on. The others will provide structural feedback, suggestions, and positive remarks towards your work, so that you get an outsider's perspective!
This is a judgement-free zone, a space where writers can come together to learn and grow. ANY type of writing is welcomed, whether it's elegant poetry, kinky short stories, or a deep and meaningful memoir. It can be hard to tackle your goals alone, especially during these wild times. Come take a break from the stresses of life and join us at Drinks & Drafts!
A bit about me: I live in the country with my twin sister, 6 cats, and 6 chickens. I enjoy board games, baking cupcakes, wine tasting, painting rocks, and writing poetry and short stories. I graduated from university where I majored in Liberal Arts and minored in Professional Writing & Rhetoric. My areas of expertise include creative writing (poetry, playwriting, etc.) and grammar.
I am also available for sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM, as well as on Thursdays from 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM EST. If the posted schedule below doesn't align with your availability, feel free to click “Suggest Your Own Meeting Times” and let us know your preferred schedule—we’ll do our best to accommodate.
