This is not to receive any certificate, but simply to have a deeper understanding of Pilates, so that each person can benefit themselves. Have healthier, more mobile, and stronger bodies! Students will need access to their own Mat and there will be some book recommendations as well, that will be referenced throughout the class. These aren't required, but recommended. Pilates has a variety of exercises and equipment (chair, ladder barrel, Cadillac/Tower, etc.) We will only be focusing on the beginner Mat portion and fundamentals of the Pilates repertoire. Mainly because Mat is the most accessible format. It requires only a Mat and your body!

About your instructor, Michael.
I've been currently teaching Mat, Reformer, and Comprehensive Pilates for over 2 and half years now. I teach at various studios and gyms, both classically and contemporary. I came upon pilates by accident looking for a new career path. Ive went through various trainings to get certified to teach Pilates, and im still always looking to increase my knowledge and awareness of self. The flexibility pilates provides with dynamic and functional movements that stregthens stability and inceases mobility in the body is hard to find in any other modality. Its unique, its fun, and it benefits the body. Im excited to teach others, like I already am, to help them gain tools for healtheir bodies and more quality life. Movement is medicine!
