I have taught private piano lessons at Orpheus School of Music in Texas, MUNO private music school in Norway and at the Distance Learning Program of the Manhattan School of Music, and worked as a Teaching Assistant at Bowling Green State University, where I taught Applied Piano, Class Piano and a Sight-Reading Class. In these past eight years, I have given piano lessons to students in all kind of levels, from beginners to masters, as both a private and a class instructor. During this time, I have realized how important it is for diverse teaching strategies to be applied depending on student’s sense of understanding and smart motivation. That is, I believe that accommodating different learning styles in accordance with students’ individual goals and capacities is absolutely essential.
I equip my students with all the available tools and techniques I have personally learned as a performer. I was trained both as a classical and a contemporary pianist, which gives me confidence to teach both standard repertoire and as well as music that is written in our time. I highly value positive curiosity in my students about how to make their individuality work for the development of their performance skills. This helps to build a trustworthy and healthy teaching-learning environment.
