Yoga comes from the word “yuj” which means “union” - this philosophy forms the very foundation of my teaching. I tell my students that yoga isn’t just doing a pose, but breathwork, gentle movments and keeping the body and mind steady during the practice which has long term effects on ones health. They will learn that it is a tool to healthy living that can guide them through stressful times.
Class Time:
3 hours of learning!
With more than 15 years of teaching experience, and background in a country from which this practice emerged, I teach yoga the way I learned it - it should be therapeutic, versatile and creative. I can change my style from slow paced, vinyasa (flowing), hatha (heavy workout) to therapy based yoga based on the needs of the students.
Let us practice together and grow!
I am a person who eats, breathes and sleeps yoga! I was raised in India, and this gave me a feel of the philosophy of yoga at an early age- although practicing the physical asanas and breathwork followed many years later.
I got my first yoga certification in 2016, followed by a 200 RYT in 2021 through Yoga Alliance. I was a busy mom of two and found it stressful to navigate the day with out some amount of physical and mental chaos. However, yoga completely changed my perspective. It gave me clarity and most of all, positivity- this kind of a turnaround made me want to share its joy with everyone.
I was asked to teach Yoga in 2015 by a mom-friend who seemed to be in a pretty much drained out state that I used to be in. After doing a couple of sessions with a women’s group, and with their positive feedback, I was convinced that this is something I wanted to pursue despite my busy schedule .
Now, I look forward to each day where there is always some amount of yoga teaching and learning involved- and this is what keeps me ticking!
