In this interactive wellness class, we’ll explore how stress affects the mind and body, and why it can sometimes feel so difficult to “turn off” the mental noise. Participants will learn simple, research-informed strategies for calming the nervous system, increasing emotional awareness, and responding to stressful situations more intentionally rather than reacting automatically.
Throughout the session, we will practice several practical techniques together, including grounding exercises, breathing strategies, and simple mindset shifts that can help regulate stress in real time. The goal is not to eliminate stress entirely—because that’s not realistic—but to develop healthier ways of responding to it so that it doesn’t control your day.
My approach to wellness is practical and supportive. As an educator and emotional wellness consultant, I focus on helping people develop tools they can actually use in real life. This class is discussion-based and welcoming to everyone, whether you are new to mindfulness and stress management or simply looking for a few new strategies to support your wellbeing.
Participants will leave the class with a better understanding of their own stress patterns and a few simple techniques they can begin using immediately to help calm the mind and create more emotional balance.
Dr. Mariela Diocares is an educator and emotional wellness consultant who is passionate about helping people develop practical strategies for managing stress and improving their overall wellbeing. Through her work, she has spent many years supporting individuals as they navigate the challenges of everyday life, including stress, emotional overwhelm, and the demands of balancing multiple responsibilities.
Her interest in this topic comes from seeing how many people struggle with stress but are rarely taught simple tools to manage it in healthy ways. Dr. Diocares believes that wellness does not have to be complicated. Small, intentional practices can make a meaningful difference in how we respond to challenges and care for our mental and emotional health.
In her classes, Dr. Diocares focuses on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where participants can explore practical techniques, reflect on their own experiences, and leave with tools they can apply immediately in their daily lives. She enjoys helping people gain greater awareness, build emotional resilience, and find more balance in the midst of busy and demanding lives.
